2/8/24 - 9:05am -  LOW PRESSURE - POSSIBLE WATER INTERRUPTION ON OAKDALE RD., FALLS CITY RD., LIBERTY RD., BRIDGEPORT RD., AND AROUND THE FALLS CITY RD. AREA   - We are experiencing low pressure due to an emergency repair in the area of Oakdale Rd. that could impact  the area of Oakdale Rd., Falls City Rd., Liberty Rd., Bridgeport Rd., and  around the Falls City Rd. area.   The crew is in the process of repairing the line.  They do not have a timeline yet on when to expect water to be restored as they do not know the extent of the damage at this time.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and will do everything possible to get the water back on as soon as we possibly can.  When the water does come back on, you might experience some air in the water line.  This is normal after a shutdown and we will do everything possible to eliminate as much of the air as possible.  If you experience this problem, letting your sink run for a few moments should help to clear your lines.  If you have any questions, please call us at 503-838-2075.  Again, we apologize the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

1/17/24 - 7:00am - OFFICE PHONE SYSTEM NOT WORKING - As of 6:30am today, the phone system for the office is not ringing into the office.  Century Link has been notified and has us on the schedule to investigate the issue but could not give us a date at this time for the repair due to the ice storm that has hit the valley.  If you are experiencing an emergency, please contact the emergency phone at (503) 932-7523.  We will return your call as soon as possible.  We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

1/16/24 - FREEZING WEATHER AND YOUR METER - With this current winter storm and the impending freezing rain expected tonight and into tomorrow,  we would like to take a moment to remind our members of a few cold weather hints.  Recently and in the past, a few of you have experienced frozen pipes and meters. Of all the visits the crew has made to customers that have had frozen meters or pipes, there was one thing that was the same, they forgot to keep a small amount of water flowing.  Some of you are worried about an expensive water bill but the truth is that running a small amount of water—about a tenth of a gallon a minute—is only 144 gallons a day and leads to a minimal cost. This will help decrease the number of frozen meters which is very hard on the meters themselves.

Also, we know a lot of you like to insulate your meter boxes as well and it’s a good idea, but try and avoid using Styrofoam peanuts and newspaper because it creates a soggy mess when we need to get into the meters in the boxes.  And it can freeze to your meter if it gets wet in your box.  A practice we have seen in the system, with good results, is to  place plywood over the meter box.  This does offer some protection from freezing.

We hope this helps.
